Heal. Empower. Support. Launch.

ReGroup’s Mission is to be a consistent and reliable presence in prisons across the state, providing opportunities and developing relationships years before release through education, trauma-informed care, and transformative justice programs promoting both accountability and healing, followed by support for reintegration through reentry and mentoring programs that build upon existing strengths to meet individual needs for rejoining the community.

ReGroup’s Vision is a community in which returning citizens are able to live out their amends in a society that welcomes them home and values them as credible messengers.

ReGroup’s Purpose is to improve the experience of reintegration for returning citizens through creating relationships long before someone is released, supporting and guiding them in their personal transformation, meeting them at the gate when they are released, and mentoring them as they navigate their way back into the community, helping them move from surviving to thriving.

REPS Reentry Mentors: ReGroup has formerly incarcerated re-entry experienced peer supports (REPS), who meet returning citizens outside the prison/jail at release. Our mentors help identify resources and support for employment, career development, technology difficulties, coping with transition, networking, education, certifications, navigating social dynamics and promoting positive living. ReGroup participants are assigned REPS who deliver peer-to-peer mentoring and develop action plans based on the participants’ identified needs and long-term goals. ReGroup members tell us that asking for help from someone who has walked a similar path Is more comfortable, increasing the likelihood of them reaching out in a time of need or crisis.

ReGroup hosts a monthly community network and support meeting open to anyone wishing to attend, regardless of county or program involvement. Participants frequently bring spouses, partners, and family to this supportive space. These meetings, described by attendees as a “safe space” where they can “truly be themselves,” not only provide collective support but also serve as mobilizing ground for criminal justice reform issues and career development (felon friendly employers have hired straight from this group). It is essential to note, there is no other open support group for re-entry in the state of Oregon.
