Taryn VanderPyl

CREW Director

Dr. Taryn VanderPyl is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice Sciences at Western Oregon University. Her books include Corrections 360: A Look at Corrections From all Angles, a unique look at corrections from those directly impacted, and Exploitation and Criminalization at the Margins: The Hidden Toll on Unvalued Lives. Dr. VanderPyl has been going into prisons, jails, and juvenile facilities since 2014 for volunteer work, special events, and research. She is one of the original founding members of TJC and ReGroup, and serves in a volunteer role as the CREW Director for TJC.
